  • 1 cup Buttermilk (chilled)
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (chilled)
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • pinch Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and spices.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the chilled buttermilk and grated apple; mix gently until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, then roll out to about ¾ inch thick and cut into rounds.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
