Ingredients
- 3 standard bags of white microwave popcorn or 1 cup of popped popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 ounces)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn according to package instructions or in a large pot over medium heat.
- In a separate large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup, bringing the mixture to a boil for 4-5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat and carefully mix in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the hot caramel sauce over the popped popcorn and gently fold until well coated.
- For added crunch, spread the caramel-coated popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 250°F (120°C) for 20 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
