- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- Sea salt (for sprinkling)
- Optional: walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the butterscotch and chocolate chips (and walnuts if using).
- Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet with space between each.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden; immediately sprinkle with sea salt after removing from the oven.
- Allow cooling on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
