- 2 pounds ground beef or turkey
- 2 cans kidney beans (15 ounces each)
- 2 small green peppers
- 1 small yellow onion
- 2 cans diced tomatoes (15 ounces each)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 ounces)
- 1 can tomato paste (6 ounces)
- 15 ounces water
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 3 tablespoons cumin
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- ½ teaspoon baking soda (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté diced green peppers and onions in a large Dutch oven until soft.
- Stir in seasonings and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Add ground beef or turkey; brown until just cooked through.
- Combine tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, water, and tomato paste; stir well.
- Simmer over medium-low heat for about 15 minutes before adding drained beans.
- Optionally stir in baking soda for enhanced flavor and texture.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
