  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg (plus 1 egg yolk)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Make brownie cookie dough: Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy; mix in egg and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and fold into wet mixture with chocolate chips.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream cold cubed butter with sugars for the chocolate chip cookie dough. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla, then combine dry ingredients and fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Scoop out balls of each dough type; combine a brownie ball with a chocolate chip ball and roll into one larger ball.
  5. Bake for 8–9 minutes until edges are set; let cool on sheets before transferring to wire racks.
