Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs ripe tomatoes (3–4 medium), sliced ¼” thick
- 12–16 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced ¼” thick
- 1 bunch fresh basil (⅓ cup leaves)
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ tsp sea salt (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper (or to taste)
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
Instructions
- Layer slices of ripe tomatoes on a serving platter.
- Tuck slices of fresh mozzarella between each tomato slice for visual appeal.
- Add whole basil leaves between the layers.
- Season with sea salt and black pepper.
- Drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze if desired.
