Ingredients
- 4 large leeks (white and light green parts only), sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Optional: 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil. Add the sliced leeks, salt, sugar, and black pepper. Cook for about 25–30 minutes until golden and soft.
- Transfer the cooked leeks into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle cheddar and parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 10–12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- For an extra crispy topping, broil for an additional 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
