- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.

- Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- For the orange cream filling, whisk sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks in a saucepan. Gradually add orange juice; cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir in orange zest and butter; cool completely.
