Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 8 oz uncooked lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground turkey until cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, and water; stir in Italian seasoning and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer.
- Add broken lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente (10–12 minutes).
- While noodles cook, mix ricotta cheese with half of the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese in a bowl.
- Once noodles are cooked, stir in the cheese mixture until well combined.
- Serve hot in bowls and top with remaining mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
