- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl for about 40 seconds until mostly melted. Whisk until fully melted.
- Add brown sugar and granulated sugar to the butter, mixing well.
- Stir in vanilla extract and egg until combined.
- Mix in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
- Gently fold in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough (about 1.5 tablespoons each) onto prepared sheets, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake for 7–10 minutes until set; cookies may look slightly underbaked.
