- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80% lean)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until just mixed. Form into four oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned; set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms in butter until browned; remove and set aside.
- Caramelize sliced onions in remaining butter. Add minced garlic and flour; stir for one minute.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer until thickened.
- Return the patties to the skillet with the gravy; cover and simmer for about ten minutes until cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
