  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until just mixed. Form into four oval patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms in butter until browned; remove and set aside.
  4. Caramelize sliced onions in remaining butter. Add minced garlic and flour; stir for one minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer until thickened.
  6. Return the patties to the skillet with the gravy; cover and simmer for about ten minutes until cooked through.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley.
