- 3 tablespoons miso paste (white or red)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 500g fresh mushrooms (shiitake, cremini, or button)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- Garnish: chopped green onions
- Garnish: sesame seeds
Instructions
- Gently wipe mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove dirt; slice them evenly.
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Toss sliced mushrooms into the skillet; cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
- In a small bowl, mix miso paste and soy sauce with warm water until smooth.
- Pour miso sauce over mushrooms; stir and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning to taste; add chili flakes for heat if desired.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
