Ingredients
- 1 pound raw extra jumbo shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons tequila (optional)
Instructions
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if using.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, jalapeno, brown sugar, and all spices. Blend until smooth.
- Marinate the shrimp in the mixture for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- If desired, add tequila to the marinated shrimp before threading onto skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates.
- Grill shrimp for about 3-4 minutes per side until opaque and cooked through.
- Serve on skewers with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
