Ingredients
- 1 cup plus 2 TBSP unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare the brown butter by melting it in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled brown butter with white and brown sugars, blending until creamy. Add vanilla extract and room temperature eggs one at a time.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Slowly mix this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in semi-sweet and mini chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Chill the dough for at least one hour or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them apart.
- Bake for about 12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
