- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Prepare chicken by trimming fat and optionally butterflying thick breasts.
- In a mixing bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt, black pepper, and brown sugar.
- Rub the spice mixture onto all sides of each chicken piece evenly.
- Marinate in the fridge for up to an hour or grill immediately.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill chicken for 7-8 minutes on one side before flipping and cooking for another 7-8 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
- Brush with barbecue sauce before removing from heat.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
