  • 4 oz unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Fresh berries for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the custard cream by whisking together egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch in a pan. Gradually add hot milk while whisking until smooth. Cook over medium heat until thickened; cool thoroughly in the refrigerator.
  2. For the tartlet shells, beat egg and sugar until fluffy. Mix in softened butter, vanilla extract, salt, and flour to form a dough. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough and cut into circles to fit your tartlet mold. Bake for about 14-15 minutes until golden.
  4. Once cooled, fill tartlet shells with custard cream and top generously with fresh berries.
