Ingredients
- 500 g All-Purpose Flour
- 50 g Sugar
- 10 g Salt
- 25 g Fresh Yeast
- 3 medium Eggs
- 100 g Unsalted Butter
- 500 ml Whole Milk
- 1 whole Vanilla Pod
- 4 large Egg Yolks
- 30 g Cornstarch
- 100 g Mini Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and fresh yeast.
- Add eggs and softened butter; mix well.
- Gradually pour in warm milk until dough is smooth.
- Knead for about 10 minutes until elastic; let rise in an oiled bowl for 2 hours.
- For the custard, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla seeds. Heat milk until boiling, then add to egg mixture while whisking.
- Cook over low heat until thickened; cool before using.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out dough into rectangles; fill with custard and chocolate chips before folding.
- Let rise again for 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet then bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
