Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Rinse the strawberries under cold water, pat dry, remove stems, and cut into halves or quarters.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir until the strawberries begin to release their juices.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water until smooth. Add this mixture to the saucepan while stirring continuously. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool before using.
