  • 6 slices deli chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wrap each endive in a slice of deli chicken breast and arrange them snugly in an 8” square baking dish.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour for about one minute.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until thickened.
  5. Pour the cheese sauce over the wrapped endives and sprinkle with shredded Gruyere cheese.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown on top.
