Ingredients
- 6 endives (washed and dried)
- 6 slices deli chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wrap each endive in a slice of deli chicken breast and arrange them snugly in an 8” square baking dish.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour for about one minute.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until thickened.
- Pour the cheese sauce over the wrapped endives and sprinkle with shredded Gruyere cheese.
- Bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown on top.
