Ingredients
- 4–5 lbs St. Louis Ribs or Baby Back Ribs
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons chipotle chili pepper seasoning
- 2 cups barbecue sauce
- 3/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (or substitute with plant-based alternative)
- Soda (as needed for moisture)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and chipotle seasoning to create the dry rub.
- Cut ribs in half if necessary and rub the spice mixture generously over both sides.
- Place seasoned ribs into an 8-quart slow cooker.
- In another bowl, mix barbecue sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and remaining chipotle seasoning.
- Pour half of the sauce mixture over the ribs and add soda around them.
- Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or high for about 6 hours until tender.
- Preheat grill to medium flame. Remove ribs from the slow cooker, place on a baking sheet, top with remaining barbecue sauce, and grill for about 10 to 15 minutes until charred.
